Extern Problem Gambling

  • Provide a free specialist counselling service to support anyone who has been impacted by gambling harms. Extern also have a range of helpful independent supports and resources listed on their website.

  • The Stop Gambling App has been developed by the Extern Problem Gambling Team, who have worked with hundreds of people with gambling problems over the past 10 years. Those years of experience have allowed Extern to identify the most helpful strategies for anyone trying to quit gambling.

Women Gambling Support Network (Extern)

  • The Women's Gambling Support Network (WGSN) is Ireland's first and only specialist service dedicated solely to supporting women impacted by gambling harm. Developed as a project within Extern, WGSN launched in response to a growing, unmet need for gender-specific gambling recovery support across the island of Ireland.

What is offered:

  • Gambling addiction recovery coaching;

  • Women's group support meetings;

  • Module-based recovery programme;

  • Online platform;

  • Workshops & webinars.

The Gameplan

  • The Gameplan is an awareness resource designed specifically for sports-oriented audiences from 13-80, supported by the Gambling Awareness Trust.

  • The platform provides simple, interactive, and accessible content and offers practical tools for athletes, coaches, and clubs to help understand gambling risks, make informed decisions, and provides advice on where to get support.
